2012 Ford Raptor SVT – Bigger is Better

2012 Ford SVT Raptor

Ford was banking on the desert and race enthusiast crowd to launch their Raptor program. Not only did they sell more than they expected, Ford propelled their image back to the glory days. The ‘Built Ford Tough’ slogan has been ringing true with the successful launch of the Ford Raptor.  Ford had already increased the ante by coming out with supercrew version, a larger engine, and a whole slew of available accessories.  What I am still a bit confused by however is the branding technique that Ford is using. Is it a Ford Raptor SVT? Is is a Ford F-150 Raptor? Is it a F-150 SVT Raptor Edition? Well who the hell really knows, but regardless I am still very impressed with this vehicle and continuing to hear positive reviews helps Ford in the long run. I have driven a couple and do enjoy knowing that I could fly over the curb if I need to and don’t have to worry about whether or not I installed my after market suspension kit properly. Ford paid the millions of dollars to test and develop a surefire way to off road right from the dealership lot and not have to worry about being sued for the truck breaking in half!

At this point we can only speculate what the 2012 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor will include, but we all know they will be increasing the output of the engine, increasing the horsepower and the mpg? Well maybe not the fuel economy, but I am hoping for a few extra inches of travel in the front and maybe a ham radio upgrade? What will you give us next Ford?

Thanks for sharing this great info. If you could provide us some more info about about the technical specification, that could have been more worthy.

Once again Ford is showing why they are the best in the business. I have been a Ford fan all of my life and this truck shows once again why i am the Ford fan that i am. I think the truck is awsome.

In short, the 4×4 F-150 is much more radical than the load of the suspension of base (desert racing series director), flared fenders and graphics, and we believe it is one of the most beautiful new truck you can buy (although it is expensive) . Base engine was a 5.4-liter Triton V8 with an optional 411-hp 6.2. I hope Ford will have great response from its customers.

Few decades ago the Ford reputation was grave with plenty of quality control issues. Ford looked at these problems and came back with high quality vehicles. Look at their outstanding reputation now. The Ford F 150 is the proof. Looking forward to testing the Raptor out.
Thank you.

The new 2012 Ford Raptor made my jaw drop, a monster truck powerful and huge enough , even better if lifted. Ford is one of my favorite car manufacturers, they have a lot of great models. I’m glad that they are back on track. I’m sure to buy this truck soon. Thanks for the informative post. -James

That seems to be a pretty stellar rig. The trim along the sides looks very fitting for an off-road vehicle.

Would love to see a few more color options in 2012, maybe a Navy Blue option.
